Thinking about giving up on your goal until the ‘conditions’ are right in your life? Chances are you will be waiting for an exceptionally long time. There is no perfect time to do something, its one of the biggest secrets of success. Instead of giving up, continue to work from where you are and with what you have. Six months from now, you will either have gotten closer to your goal or be exactly in the same place you are now. However, you won’t have taken a backward step. It is not about how fast you take those steps forward, its about just taking a step, period!
I know the most popular saying is ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day.’ … I prefer to say, ‘Terrific Fitness wasn’t built in a day.’
You see this amazing studio, you see the amazing staff who have helped thousands of people, you see the transformations, the amazing equipment… but what you don’t see is the hard work put in to build Terrific Fitness.
It’s hard to see the significant progress if you are looking at it on a daily or weekly basis. But if you look at the progress every few weeks or months, you will notice changes. Only then will you notice how far you have come. The reason Terri never gave up on her achieving this goal was because she saw it as a PROCESS and not an EVENT. Terri knew it wouldn’t happen over night and that she would have to continuously work hard everyday to make it the business she desires it to be.
Adopt a ‘no excuses’ mantra. Our minds can come up with so many excuses and reasons to stop; in the end we are all human. Our minds can result in a state of confusion, when giving up on a bad habit or starting a new one; its better to not argue with it. You can put an end to all internal debates, questions and arguments by simply saying to yourself, ‘No excuses!’ Strangely it works because you give yourself no room for negotiation or debate. Using the mantra, ‘no excuses’ means ‘I’ll never give up’.
