Congratulation to our Community Liaison Consultant Viki Trampevski who has lost a total of 57.5cm from around her body and had a complete over haul of her diet and lifestyle!⠀
⠀
For Viki it wasn’t just about weight loss. It was a journey of recover after also suffering a minor stroke, putting her out of training for over 12 months.⠀
When Viki came to me in March 2015, she was barely eating anything. She’d had Gastric Sleeve surgery prior to joining Terrific Fitness, helping her lose an incredible 40kg. She had falling into a dark hole with her weight after having her sons, and used this as a tool to kick off her weight loss journey. Once she had recovered from her surgery, she wanted to take things to the next level. Viki wanted to focus on health, not just weight loss.
The first thing I did was teach Viki some basics about nutrition. Understanding her macros, protein, fats and carbs, and the important of vitamins and minerals. I find that education is key. The more you understand something, the more your will make it part of your life. Simply following a meal plan and counting calories or macros is not a long term sustainable solution. I have found that teaching my clients about what food fuels your body and how, provides them with the freedom to make wiser food choices, without deprivation, without starvation and gain long term, sustainable results.
I started teaching her about portion control, and helped her gradually increase her daily food intake. As a rough idea, Viki was barely on 1000 calories when she came to me. That is nowhere near enough for someone who is active. So we gradually increased her calories til eventually she was on well over 1600 calories per day. We didn’t count one calorie. We used rough food portions as a guide. As a Nutrition Coach however, I calculate what it works out behind the scenes.
Viki started out with personal training once per week with supplementary programs that she completed independently at the gym. After a few weeks, Viki swapped her gym sessions for group fitness with Terrific Fitness, whilst maintaining her weekly PT sessions with me.
In April 2017 I started seeing Viki’s resting heart rate drop lower and lower each week. It got to the point that it was dropping under 50 BMP. Viki wasn’t showing any symptoms, but I requested she get her heart checked anyway to be on the safe side. I didn’t like this consistent drop.
Viki, being a diligent student, followed this up. Long story short, she was referred to a heart specialist who found that there was in fact something going, and requested further test. During this testing process, Viki stopped training under the instruction of her specialist pending results. It was at this point that Viki suffered a minor stroke.
Thankfully Viki made a full and complete recovery and was able to return to training at Terrific Fitness in January 2018. Since returning to training with us Viki has been able to perform strength training again, and participate in group fitness.
Viki is such an inspiration and a tower of strength. I am truly blessed to now also have Viki on the staffing team. Viki is our Community Liaison Consultant and a great inspiration and role model to all of our members. Congratulations Viki, on a remarkable story of survival.

Viki’s story in her own words:
“Prior to joining Terrific Fitness, in spite of losing weight, I was still struggling with mental health issues about being smaller in size and how I still couldn’t find how to love myself again. I couldn’t find the right exercise and nutrition balance to convert fat to muscle. I wanted to be a size 10-12, the weight didn’t really bother me; it was the dress size the I wanted. So I met Terri and we set goals and put a plan into action. The centimetres started dropping, fat was now dropping and I was building muscle; magic was happening. As I got more confident in the gym I became a very confident woman again and started to love the person I was becoming. I was starting to love me!!
The biggest lesson for me, was to put me first and do what I needed to do for myself to keep me happy and sane, to be able to be the best wife and mother to my family. Happy wife happy life lol
A picture says a thousand words. I love who I am today. I am a confident and strong woman and have the tools to help me get through good and bad, whereas before TF, I struggled with all that and was deep in the sand. I’m scared to even think about where I would be today if I had never met Terri and her amazing staff and Trainers; they are not my friends they are now my family.
Today I’m not afraid to do things for me and have my time. My family and I have had some big challenges to deal with in the last couple of years but as a person I have grown and have the tools now to tackle whatever comes our way, and for that will forever be grateful to TF.
In 2017 I had a minor stroke which physically didn’t leave any damage. I had to learn to rebalance my body and couldn’t look at a phone or scroll through it because I would get dizzy. After 3 months of physiotherapy I was able to start driving again. This has been hard because I was the one who took the kids to school and ran the house while hubby was at work, so not driving, took my independence away, and mentally I found that hard. I was not able to exercise with weights and could only do cardio training during recovery, such as cycling and running, which I hated lol. But this was all I had and training was such a big part of my life, so I put all those issues aside and smashed it. I found a new love for cardio training.
After 8 months (your stopped training May 2017 and started back in January 2018) I got the all clear to return to strength training and haven’t looked back since. Today I am back to doing what I love with no limitations. I had been told by my doctors that if l wasn’t as fit and healthy as I was when I had the stroke, things could have been a lot worse. I thank God every day that I am still here, with my beautiful family who has been by my side since day one.”
