My client’s journey has grown from participating in our group classes to taking part in our ‘Nutrition Counselling’. Whilst working with her I learnt very quickly that she wanted to make serious changes, both physically and nutritionally.
My client has been a standout client who from day dot wasn’t afraid to make changes and constantly ask questions; all the hard work she has put in over the past couple have months have not gone unnoticed!
Her nutritional journey has led to her losing 10kgs from when she first started, as well as increasing her awareness of a variety of food intolerances that has reshaped her outlook on food. I am super proud of my client and her physical and nutritional transformation that has remolded her look on life.
My client wanted to become a better version of herself, and I truly believe she has evolved into the person she has always wanted to be. Not only is she eating better but the level of intensity she brings to class has been an absolute standout, as has her level of confidence reaching an all-time high. Here is my client’s story in her own words:
“After around 4 years of watching Terrific Fitness posts on Facebook I finally decided to join in March after friends of ours joined.
I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my neck last November 4 weeks and was just generally feeling flat, not myself and in pain.
I never struggled with weight, I was diagnosed with PCOS at 23 and weight was never a side effect for me.
After 2 extra-large babies 4 years apart and 2 complicated pregnancies and both emergency Caesar’s I gained 30kg.
I’ve tried every single diet over my life, you can think of, lite and easy, Atkins, 500cal a day, shakes, juices, herbal medicine, cabbage soup you name it I’ve done it.
They were the years I thought I was overweight at 65kg🙄
My aim was to get healthy and back to my old self, and to get my body in tip top shape for whatever lies ahead with my neck and to make life changes.
I joined 2 classes at the studio, and suddenly we were put into the first lockdown. Couldn’t believe it, I wondered was I meant to join? Was I meant to be like this, was this a sign?
The first lockdown I couldn’t get my head around the online classes, I hadn’t been to a gym for years, my worries were “am I doing this right,? What if I don’t have equipment?”
Finally, after we were allowed out, the first place I went was to the studio, 3kg heavier from lockdown 1, I was on a mission to get rid of that and the rest.
I signed up with coach Emilia to do the 2-week nutrition boot camp; I left with knowledge and determination.
4 days later, 2 classes in the Studio, we were locked down again.
But I was committed to training and changing habits.
I finished my nutrition boot camp.
I’ve trained 2-3 times a week amongst remote learning and running around after 2 small children and daily walks.
My biggest lesson would be what food I consumed daily and didn’t think I had intolerance to it.
The pain and swelling my body felt consuming my usual foods, after elimination was enough to make the change.
This lockdown has given me results, with determination, knowledge and the support I receive has seen me through.
8 weeks in, I’m 10 kilos down. I feel fresh, no pain, motivated and overall, better in myself.
I’m proof that you can be given the crappiest card, to start my journey with 2 false starts thanks to Covid.
But I’m thankful to start again in the most trying of circumstances and looking forward to where this takes me.
If you’re thinking you can’t do it, no matter where this Covid journey takes us with re-opening, I’m proof that zoom classes do work, with knowledge, changing habits, exercise and great support you can smash goals without stepping foot in the studio.
