Celebrating Liz Quonoey! Liz joined TF in March 2016 so that she could feel better about herself for her 50th birthday that June. She also wanted to be fitter so that she could climb the Great Wall of China in October 2016 (image on left), which she did!
Fast forward five years, Liz has lost 37kg, has dropped 40cm around her waist and 35cm from around her hips.
She is fitter and stronger than she has ever been at just 55 years young, this coming Thursday. Happy birthday for Thursday Liz!!!
Liz often now completes double classes, completing up to 10 sessions per week between group fitness and personal training. When she first started, she started of doing 2 sessions per week. As her fitness and strength grew, her training sessions multiplied.
Liz now enjoys fresh nutritious food, being a rock-star meal-prepper every week. She is also a massive fan of Pana ice-cream, which is one of her favorite treat meals. For Liz, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about living life to the fullest in the best way she can, whilst still enjoying fun food and good times.
Liz’s journey has been far from perfect, having battled with many health challenges and injuries throughout the years. Despite these however, she rises above all adversity, coming out stronger each time. Liz allows herself to have her moments of angst in tough times then fights on. Her resilience and perseverance is beyond commendable! A true inspiration to everyone around her, including me, her coach Terri. Liz, you are one of the most incredible women I have ever met and I absolutely adore you. You inspire me to be better every single day! Don’t ever stop being you, my love!
Here are a few words from Liz:
“5 years ago, I was overweight, lethargic, unhappy and mentally and physically unhealthy. I wanted to feel better about myself and knew I had to change my life.
Today, I am fit, healthy, strong, active and lighter. Whilst the physical results have been amazing it’s the improved emotional and mental state that I am most proud of. My dark days are less frequent and manageable thanks to my training regime and change in mindset.
Severe depression plagued me for many years and prevented me from enjoying life. Improving my health and fitness through training at TF helped me out of the black hole and is critical for my continued mental well-being, particularly during lockdowns.
TF has always been my safe space where I am not judged, but where everyone supports and inspires each other. It is an amazing community of coaches and clients that I’m blessed to be part of.”
