Nadia Panaccio joined Terrific Fitness 2 months ago in our July ’28 Day Kick Start Challenge’. Since then she has also participated in our Nutrition Coaching program that helps identify the right nutrition plan for the individual, in line with their lifestyle and nutritional needs. We don’t offer diets. We teach people how to eat food that helps their body thrive without missing out on treat food, without deprivation and without restrictions. With dedicated coaching support, training programs adapted to individual needs and personalised nutrition, we take a holistic approach to your success. Nadia has lost 11cm around her waist, 6cm around her hips and 4.5 kg.
Nadia now shares her experience, on the ‘Terrific Fitness way’:
“At the start of the year I felt like I had hit rock bottom, I was depressed, suffering with anxiety due to trauma and did not feel comfortable within myself at all. I felt as though I was retaining a lot of fluid all over my body. I was talking with my sister who is a member with TF and she mentioned it once and I was like yeah I’ll think about it and that was it.. She then told me about the 28 Day Kickstart Challenge and said I should do it, and that we will do it together to keep each other accountable. I wouldn’t have joined if it wasn’t for her giving me that push that I needed.
I love that TF is such a friendly community. I was extremely nervous about joining, but all the staff and every single member are so supportive it’s like having your own little cheer squad. There is no judgement on how fit you are, which is what I love.
The biggest lesson that I have learnt since being with TF, is that to get to your big goals, you need to celebrate all the small wins that you have along the way. I’m not the type to set goals, goal setting for some reason makes me uncomfortable so I’m glad that TF have staff who are there to help you with this, for me personally has helped enormously!
Also, that there are always options! I have a knee and back injury and when I feel like these areas are playing up, I love how the coaches give an alternative.
I remember in the very beginning I did a training program on the app before my 28 Day Kickstart Challenge Started and during it I sat on the ground crying because I couldn’t do a certain exercise, and I thought to myself ‘I can’t actually go into the gym for a class I’m going to embarrass myself in front of all these people just give up now’. But I was determined in changing my life so I messaged Terri and told her what had happened and the support and reassurance that I got from her gave me that little bit of confidence not to give up before I even started.
I completed the 14-day nutrition bootcamp, that first week I won’t lie, was hell! I struggled with sugar cravings and temptation was all around me. This was the first time in my life that I had stuck to a food plan and not cheated once; usually I would slip and then try to convince myself why it was ok to do that. Once I got over those cravings, I felt amazing, I could feel all the inflammation I had was gone. When reintroducing various food, the following fortnight I found that I have an intolerance to dairy and since cutting it out completely I have found that the weight has started to drop again.
Training wise I went from virtually no exercise at all and maybe averaging 3000 steps a day to training 3-4 times a week and created small achievable goals to increase by steps each fortnight and now average 9000 a day, and I’m improving every week that goes by.” – Nadia Panaccio
