As her daughter and at the same time her coach I cannot put into words how incredibly proud I am of the journey she has taken over the recent years! Gail stepped into TF with minimal range of movement, feeling weak post-surgery ,with close to no training background. When Gail started PT a couple of years ago, as the weeks went by, I could just see my mum finally coming back to life. Finding her strength not only physically but that mental block post-surgery began to subside. I have watched her conquer her journey from all angles, in the studio and in life in general. From once-a-week PT to now a routine attending group classes I cannot put into words how amazing it is to see Gail stand tall and do things she once thought she may never be able to do again. From watching her rehabilitate with all the highs and the lows attached to it, to now being able to coach her out on the floor. The walk Gail has taken, partnered with where she is today took a lot of strength, discipline and determination and I must say she truly does inspire me. Gail’s journey is one many people take and she are one beautiful example of how far one can go when you take that leap of faith. I am beyond proud of Gail, keep it up Mumma!
- Coach Jamie
Gail, is like my twin in so many ways with our similar injuries, our birthdays and even our looks! However our biggest similarity is tenacity, strength and sheer grit! No way life gets us down girl!!! Helping Gail find herself again through Personal Training was an incredible journey to be a part of. Watching her go from strength to strength, and watching the smile in her eyes grow brighter each week! I then had the pleasure of passing Gail over to Coach Jamie, Gail’s daughter, to continue to coach her and watch the mother and daughter team continue to conquer! As a coach, it doesn’t get much better than that!!! Congratulations ladies! You truly have made me super proud!!!!

Here is Gail’s journey, in her own words:
“Before I joined Terrific Fitness, I was very limited with exercise after spinal surgery. I was constantly in pain which impacted on my quality of life. I struggled with doing normal household chores, standing, and walking for long periods of times and felt really weak.
I have gained so much knowledge over the past couple of years to help me achieve my fitness goals keeping healthy.
The coaches are amazing and takes the time to know you, your limitations and provide options to keep you moving and motivated.
The TF community is friendly, caring and supportive ! 💙
Since joining TF my overall mobility has improved, I eat healthier and I have a training routine which was non-existent before TF.
The biggest challenge was my mobility. My body/back was so weak I struggled with life in general. Since joining TF and working with Coach Terri for personal training this has all improved. To maintain my fitness levels, I attend group fitness classes on a regular basis which I love.
I work out 2-3 times a week (group fitness classes) mostly low/moderate impact exercises that is kind to my body.
I have found that changing my habits and getting into a routine has helped tremendously.
I am stronger, happier, healthier, and able to enjoy a better quality of life.
My nutrition habits have improved and I’m eating healthier and do try to drink more water daily. I enjoy a treat and maybe overindulge at times 😉
I have become a better version of myself 😁” – Gail Mathews
