What a little powerhouse this lady is! Watching Fiona in action in PT, and the feedback I have received from all her coaching including Coach Stephen and Coach Theo, has been nothing but praise. I have only had the pleasure of coaching Fiona once in a class, but that was enough for me to see what an awesome student she is. She takes on board feedback very seriously and does her very best to implement what we coach. Fiona is an absolute dynamite! Fi it is not only a pleasure to have you in the TF family but an honor! Fiona Anderson joined TF in late June of 2021. With ambitions to pursue a protective services occupation, Fiona wanted to get into shape to fulfill a fitness requirement for a future job but also to change things up for herself to be fitter and feel better about her health.
Fiona joined as a Personal Training member under my guidance and began personal training 3 days a week. Fiona also worked in group fitness training a couple of times a week. In all, training 4-5 times a week. A few weeks in Fiona added Self Defence & Kick Boxing with Coach Theo Batsakis, to the mix.
When Fiona joined TF for PT, I noticed a lot of unbalanced movements and form action in Fiona’s squats, lunges and lifting that needed work. Fiona needed to do push ups to qualify for a fitness test in protective services. Fiona’s sleep was sporadic, and her food habits required some attention.
Within the first 2 weeks, Fiona was getting better quality sleep and she was learning about her food and dietary patterns and began to understand the importance of water, food, and training and how they blend together to improve the body.
Over the past 3 months, Fiona has set up personal bests with push ups, and for a lady in her 50s, she’s does better and more push ups than some guys half her age. Fiona’s form in lifting and squatting has cleaned up and she has built strength and muscle to keep her metabolic age younger than her actual age by 13 years. Her interest in fitness has growth such that she has invested in her own home gym set of barbells, benches, dumbbells, and kettlebells. She has steadily made progress, being able to work more weights as every session is completed.
As her coach, I have set mark after mark to Fiona’s success and have seen great progress and self determination to exceed those marks on most occasions. It’s been a pleasure working with Fiona as she has developed and become stronger.

Fiona might be small, but she packs a lot of punch! She is an amazing student, and absolutely love coaching her in self-defence and kickboxing when we are face to face. Her precision on her technique is fantastic for someone who has never punched or kicked before. I am spewing we got locked down just as we got started. But I love that Fiona continues to practice what we covered in her punching and kicking drills so that when we return to contact drills she will bring even more to the floor.

Here is Fiona’s story in her words:
“Prior to joining TF and PT, I was unmotivated about my health – my days revolved around work and pets, so there was little time for myself. I thought I was fit – I ride a bicycle for work five days a week so assumed that was enough. Being vegan, I already eat well, but I have always had trouble putting on weight.
I wanted to change direction in my career, improve my work/life balance and get stronger and fitter. Finding a gym that I was comfortable going to, a PT that would motivate me during lockdown were also concerns and challenges.
My mindset has changed considerably since starting my journey with TF and PT. I sleep better, I eat better. I’m more motivated to improve myself. I can see myself getting stronger, I am constantly surpassing my PBs. TF is like a family and all the staff take an interest in how you are going and where your mental health is at.
Stephen has been a great PT – constantly pushing me and challenging me with different exercise. He is always available for questions and feedback, and I enjoy our training sessions. I’m still struggling to put weight on, but I can see that what fat I have is changing to muscle.
