Hey guys so I just wanted to share with you all my journey from the beginning and what got me to where I am today.
I was 35yrs old and not in the best frame of mind. I had everything I always dreamed of. A wonderful supportive husband, 3 beautiful children and a happy life so one would think, but little did everyone know that deep down I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. So, the next decision in my life was an extremely hard one to make but I knew it would be the best thing for me and that I could then be the best wife and mother I could be.
The 28th May 2013 I entered the hospital and had a Gastric Sleeve Surgery. For those of you who do not know what that is, it is when they remove ¾ of your stomach and it reduces the amount of food you can eat. How I came to this decision was not the easiest thing. I knew that going ahead with this it was going to be a lifetime thing and not a sort term fix. I was happy with that and made this promise to myself that I was going to be the best version of me and be around long enough to see my beautiful boys grow up and get married and hopefully be a proud grandma who could run around with her grand kids. So, surgery day all went well, and I came out feeling good and after 2 nights in hospital I was able to come home and start my road to recovery. This was going to be challenging as I had to learn how to eat again. Stay tuned next week, I will share how that went.
